South Fork Junior High Teacher: Mrs. Emily Story Recognized as the WFMB 104.5 FM Teacher of the Month for December

On Monday, February 1, 2021 Mrs. Emily Story was recognized as the WFMB 104.5 FM Teacher of the Month for December.

Mrs. Story

Mrs. Story is a seventh grade teacher at South Fork School District. As with all teachers the school year has been one of constant improvisation for Mrs. Story. She often works evenings and weekends to ensure that her students have the best chance to succeed.

An example of this is her using her Martin Luther King Jr Holiday to record the novel that the class will be studying so that one student with a learning disability can listen and still participate with the rest of the class, especially since this student is one of the fully remote students. It is difficult to keep these students engaged and learning, but even more so for those needing accommodations.

Going above and beyond in the current learning environment means even more than normal.

Tell us about your Teacher:

Mrs. Story is a teacher that overcame her own dyslexia in school and now uses that experience to be a champion for students that need more help. When she's not working she loves hanging out with her husband and four rescue dogs.

Mrs. Story is a vibrant, caring, dedicated educator.  The South Fork School District is proud to have Mrs. Story as one of our staff members.
